Katie Nahabedian, KPA CTP

Hi, I'm Katie! I love your dog already. I think dogs are the most wonderful creatures on this planet, and your dog is no exception. So I want the best life possible for you and your pup. My mission is for you to enjoy many blissful, fulfilling years together. I’m here whether you want more peaceful walks, relaxing visits with friends, quiet evenings - all without sacrificing your dog’s need to be a dog.

My approach to dogs:

As a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Parter (KPA CTP) and Fear Free Certified dog trainer, I’m committed to force-free dog training. That means I choose to rely on positive reinforcement, and I don't inflict pain or fear to punish unwanted behavior. At the same time, I believe everyone is trying their best for their dogs. I'm not here to judge or shame dog parents who have trained differently.

My approach to humans:

I believe humans learn best with teachers who provide kindness and safety. We're all here to learn, not to expect perfection. Along the way, I'll point out your wins, big and small. Let me be your coach AND your cheerleader!

Clients Say...

My husband and I (first-time dog owners) adopted a 4yo pit mix last year, and Katie has been invaluable in helping us understand how to best communicate with Masha, and how to make her feel as safe as possible in her new home. She is not only the most patient and kind dog trainer I have ever met, she is also so incredibly in-tune with my dog’s body language that she can interpret Masha’s wants and needs with ease. I 100% trust Katie with Masha; I know she will always act in our pup’s best interest, and that Masha will have the absolute best time with one of her favorite humans.

CORE VALUES

Safety

Physical safety for humans and dogs is crucial, so whenever needed, we'll take steps to shield everyone from harm. Emotional safety is also important! I want you to feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and raise concerns.

Well-being

This process works best when we emphasize the well-being of your dog and their needs - physical, emotional, and mental. This process also works best when we create training plans that account for your needs. You're important, too!

LIMA

I follow the principles of LIMA: Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive. I aim to meet our goals humanely, with the least amount of pain or fear possible. My goal: none at all!

TAKE THE FIRST STEP TOWARD A MORE JOYFUL LIFE WITH YOUR DOG.
